Here are all the technical changes from the past week.
Effect Core
- Fix JSON Schema generation with topLevelReferenceStrategy: “skip” (Bug Fix)
- JSONSchema: Fix issue where invalid defaults were included in the output (Bug Fix)
Effect AI
- Fix either detection for anthropic provider-defined tool results (Bug Fix)
- Remove accidental commit of debug console.dir in ai-anthropic (Bug Fix)
- Allow user to control how tool call errors are handled (Feature)
- Remove either from tool call results (Optimization)
Effect Cluster
- Don’t restart an entity during shutdown (Bug Fix)

AI SDK supporting Effect Schema via standard schema!
Latest AI SDK 6 beta supports the following validation libs: Zod, Valibot, Arktype, Effect Schema (Zod still needed for AI SDK-internal schemas)

effect-notion v1.0.0 release – a lightweight, production-ready server that acts as a secure proxy for the Notion API, built with Effect. Project by Paul Philp.
- Paul also published Effect Patterns Hub CLI v0.4.0, a production-ready CLI tool that brings Effect’s best practices directly into the AI development workflow.
